At the intersection of the world

It’s like love
Hope and anticipation
There at the intersection
Of what lies beyond grasp
As if the heart
Desires that hope takes shape
As though love
Becomes the reluctance to fail
It’s not for anything
But the attempt to fulfill
Something in emptiness
That births another world

It’s been like this
When I try to grasp the world
As another space of hope
Like a love that lives inside me
Where value emanates from its source
This might be an imagined world
Different from reality
Where everything shatters
Where all things collapse

My optimism is everyone’s
An aspiration toward the ideal
It’s there that dreams must slumber
Where self-deception inspires
Where truth is evaded
By the events of this other world
Where love takes exquisite form
And the promise of power

For whatever reason
That world where I stand
Exists at the intersection
Of the world of truth
And the imagined world I’ve spawned
Through whatever means
Of hope and love
Seems divisible
As a choice between left and right

But I’ve opted to turn back
So that I can avoid choosing
So as to offset confrontation
As a possibility
Life isn’t so simple
Because in the end
A return to the start
Is no less a breaking of parts
